We have established our company after building strong links with DIMAS and GENERSYS, to provide a complete solution for South Africa's growing energy concerns. We all know that the cost of energy is rising, but the alternatives can invariably fall into one of two categories; either too expensive, with lengthy paybacks; or (to our dismay), cheap products high on promises but low on results.
We set out to do something different.
We wanted a solution for South Africa that would neither compromise quality or performance. Both should be inseperable from the decision of investing into solar energy. Quality of the product ensures longevity, returning a longer payback and yielding better financial savings and reductions in carbon emissions. The performance likewise ensures a quicker payback, something that a lot of customers respond to.
We searched far and talked to many solar thermal (and solar PV) manufacturers and decided that solar water heating offered the best economical and environmental benefits, for money spent. The hard choice was to find a solar panel system that would be both reliable and affordable for South Africa.
DIMAS was the first choice, a fine high quality solar panel that is affordable and backed by an impressive eight year warranty. It is a system that works with fully pumped systems and, more commonly, with a geyser which allows the home to create savings on electricity too.
GENERSYS, a manufacturer with its solar panels in over 60 (yes, SIXTY!) countries has developed an impressive range of panels too. Backed by world leading 20 year warranties, GENERSYS panels also have the highest performance at 1200 kW/h, per panel. Built to last, GENERSYS solar panels also have an indepdently certified life expectancy of over 35 years. That translates into massive return on investment, and a relatively quick payback of just 4-6 years for domestic systems, as little as 18 months for pools. The panels are more expensive than the DIMAS but are much better suited to customers with premium properties where the aesthetics are important (GENERSYS panels are beautful) and long term return on investment is more important than the initial payback period. GENERSYS panels could also be seen as an interest to property developers, where the long life and guarantee of the panel can add significant value to the property.
With these two manufacturers we have developed training and availability for South Africa. Solar Home Energy is able to install, design and specify for installations from any size, big or small using DIMAS or GENERSYS solar panels.
